EXU E2 in brief

January 2026·1 min readCovers through EXUE2 — spoilers to there, none beyond

Hunted out of Emon — the city guard and the Nameless Ones revealed as one corrupt hand — the Keepers flee toward the Fire Ashari to offload the stolen residuum and ask for help. They brawl free of an underworld ambush at the gate (Opal neutralizing one enforcer by dating him), camp on the road, and finally grasp what they carry: the residuum is drug-grade suude, and the cursed crown is a Spider Queen artifact, likely a Vestige of Divergence. At the Flamereach Outpost they meet Lorkathar and two shattered survivors of a coordinated elemental attack on Thordak’s Crater — orchestrated, during the party’s own lost week, by a winged being of lava. Then the world breaks: an earthquake heaves a new mesa from the earth, choked in magic-killing ash, and at its heart burns an incomplete planar gate. Fearne, a wildfire druid who can reach into it unburned, follows Mister into the rune — and it transforms him into a vapor elemental they must fight their own friend to survive. Dorian wins without a kill, driving the monster off the gate so it unravels back into Mister; Opal, her magic stripped by her twin Ted (revealed as the source of her power), wins on daggers and spite. Lorkathar sends them back toward Emon to find a Runechild, Shaun Gilmore, who might read the rune. Unresolved: the gate and who’s building it, the crown’s growing hold on Dariax, Fearne’s alarming wildfire nature, and Opal’s codependent bond with Ted. The episode closes on Ted, vowing to protect her sister always.
